Depending on what Bethesda's plans are for that other franchise, this may be as close to Fallout as some dedicated Nintendo fans ever get. The original Wasteland is billed as the first ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG, and was a precursor to Fallout. In Wasteland 2, players work to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Eventually, the updated version was made available as a free download to Steam users, and that updated edition is the one that has since made its way to a variety of platforms, including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Wasteland 2: Director's Cut is an enhanced version of the Kickstarter-backed game, which arrived on PC in 2014. The game will arrive on September 13, just in time to distract students from their homework during those pivotal first few weeks of school. InXile Entertainment has announced the release date for its eagerly anticipated Nintendo Switch port of Wasteland 2: Director's Cut.
